The de Havilland DH.88 Comet was specially developed for the air race from London to Melbourne in 1934. Equipped with two 230 HP motors, adjustable propellers and retractable landing gear, the COMET was way ahead of its time, not only because of its exciting design.

The elliptical wings in connection with the motor nacelles that take up the retractable landing gear really challenge the use of the all-GRP construction. Striking details such as ribs on the tail units and wings as well as planking joints and cladding elements are molded and give this model its high level of detail. Through consistent lightweight construction with maximum structural strength, we have succeeded in building the Comet as a fully GRP model, in which the fantastic flight performance of the original can also be achieved with the use of two electric motors.
