The MB 339 is an Italian jet trainer from the 70s, which became known worldwide mainly through the Frecce Tricolori aerobatic squadron. Due to its outstanding flight characteristics, it is still used today by this squadron for spectacular and perfectly flown formation aerobatics. Anyone who has ever seen the ten MB 339s in formation can hardly escape the fascination of the display.
Our 1:3.6 scale model was consistently developed for competition use.
Despite a fuselage length of 3 m and a wingspan of 2.8 to 3 m, depending on the version with or without tiptanks, we have managed to keep the aircraft below the magic 20 kg limit. This was made possible by using the latest vacuum-sandwich construction and by dividing the wing into three parts with airflow already integrated. The MB 339 was Thomas Gleißner's competition model at the Jet World Championships 2009 in Israel and 2011 in Dayton/USA, where he was able to achieve the title of Team World Champion with the German team.
